Now, almost 19 years and 12 million visitors later, Swarovski Crystal Worlds is on the verge of its greatest expansion ever. Visitors can still enjoy unlimited access to the crystalline world of wonders until October 5, 2014. The grand re-opening is scheduled for early summer 2015.
MUSIC IN THE GIANT 2014: VIBRANT WORLDS OF SOUND
The eleventh annual “Music in the Giant” is an event shaped by the worlds of sound created by the human voice, and by compositions for strings and piano. Baritone Matthias Goerne, tenor Mark Padmore, vocal ensemble Vox Luminis, actor and director Karl Markovics, the Camerata Salzburg, pianists Andrew West and Tamara Stefanovich and other artists perform live at Swarovski Kristallwelten (Swarovski Crystal Worlds) from May 5 to 11, 2014.
EXPANSION OF SWAROVSKI KRISTALLWELTEN: CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN IN OCTOBER
Swarovski Kristallwelten (Swarovski Crystal Worlds), one of Austria’s most successful attractions, is to undergo a major expansion starting in October, with a total investment of 34 million euros. Based on the current date for the start of construction, over the next 18 months, the total area of the site will more than double, from 3.5 hectares at present to 7.5 hectares. Opening is slated for early summer 2015.
The main focus of the expansion will be a crystalline park landscape, expansion of offers for families and children, new dining experiences, and remodeling of the entrance hall and shopping area. Swarovski Crystal Worlds’ iconic Giant will also undergo changes, and starting in 2015, will entice visitors with new Chambers of Wonder.
