The artistic work of Tyrolean Martin Gostner , born in Innsbruck, Austria in 1957, centers on exploring history and memory. The artist, however, focuses less on facts and more on the working of memory. Martin Gostner gained recognition for his Bay Windows, temporary works of art that appear unannounced in the middle of nowhere.

Gostner divides his time between Innsbruck and Duesseldorf, where he works as a professor at the Kunstakademie's Department of Art.
