CAO PERROT
Artistic duo CAO PERROT - Andy Cao, born in Vietnam in 1968, and Xavier Perrot, born in France in 1971 - have been blurring the line between art and landscape architecture to create poetic immersive experiences for years.
Their multifaceted project portfolio includes Guangming Central Park in Shenzhen, the Red Bowl and White Dome installations in Beauvais as well as the Jardin des Hesperides in Canada. Emotion, rather than meaning, is a leitmotiv in their work and they take inspiration from familiar imagery like trees and clouds.
Andy Cao and Xavier Perrot’s Crystal Cloud is the centerpiece in the park. This large-scale installation hovers above the black Mirror Pool. It invites guests to pause for a moment and take in the view. The 1,400-square-meter masterpiece is the largest installation of its kind in the world. The Crystal Cloud is made of around 800,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals. Guests follow a path that slopes down toward the Mirror Pool, where the crystal light is captured like stars against the night sky – even in broad daylight. Countless fireflies swirl and dance their way through the air in this enchanted fairy-tale park, accompanying guests as they cross the bridge.
