Peter Kogler was born in Innsbruck, Austria in 1959 and studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Innsbruck school of applied arts and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He held professorships at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Le Mans and currently teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
Peter Kogler lives and works in Vienna.
Peter Kogler’s work focuses on the world that we live in, which is becoming increasingly dominated by the flow of data and electronic communication, and two elements that characterize it – the brain and the globe. The globe reflects physical reality, and the brain the incomprehensible structures of our thoughts.
