The oversized "YES TO ALL" banner by Sylvie Fleury, designed with Swarovski crystals, is visible from far and wide. Its message is a cynical commentary on the consumerism of today’s society and is in dramatic and edgy contrast to its glamorous crystal design.
In her artwork, Sylvie Fleury, born in 1961 in Geneva, grapples critically with the consumption of luxury fashion and cosmetics goods, picking up where Duchamp’s ready-mades and Warhol’s reflections on consumer culture left off. In 2014, the artist unveiled “Camino del Sol,” a new, experimental installation, in the Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Paris.
