HG Merz
Architecture firm HG Merz was founded in Stuttgart in 1981 and expanded in 1993 with offices in Berlin and Beijing. The Stuttgart office focuses mainly on exhibition and museum design, including visual communication and media planning.
A hallmark of HG Merz's approach is its respect for the original. HG Merz aims to organize objects in a way that creates connections between them and sparks visitors imaginations, and to turn museums into spaces that provide intellectual challenge. The Sachsenhausen Memorial, the Porsche Museum, and the Berlin State Opera are just some of the projects that feature in their rich portfolio of museums.
“Timeless” tells Swarovski’s story and illuminates crystal in all of its historical facets. This exciting 360-degree exhibition starts with the company’s founding and moves through magical moments on the stage, screen, and catwalk, weaving together the glamorous and the curious with nostalgia, history, and technology.
Here, “Timeless” means experiencing the company’s evolution – from the year it was founded up until the present day – and losing track of your own time as you explore.
Architect and museum designer HG Merz collaborated with the Swarovski Corporate Archive to create the narrative that runs through the exhibition.
