The first floor of the Kristallwelten Store Innsbruck has housed a new Chamber of Wonder since November 2022. Dutch designer Iris van Herpen designed an extraordinary and unique sculpture, Visualizing The Invisible. The larger-than-life glass sculpture that stands at the center of the installation reveals the ghostly contours of a female face. Iris van Herpen uses biomorphism to explore the forces of nature and creates the female form using fine features for this installation. Van Herpen collaborated with glass artist Bernd Weinmayer to create the sculpture. The striped curtain in the background has clouds printed on it while a green laser scans the mask’s fine features and structure. The mirrored floor adds an extra dimension to the installation, aligning with the concept of Visualizing The Invisible.
